How can I get involved?

There are typically over 100 volunteers for the Ocean to City Race. We are incredibly lucky to have the good will of so many people who come back year after year to help the event.

By supporting Ocean to City you are supporting Meitheal Mara & the work we do with vunerable & disadvantaged groups.

If you are available on race day or in advance of race day, we always need many hands on deck.

We want to make this a great colourful spectacle for everyone participating: rowers, spectators, families, athletes, clubs, teams and the proud owners and maintainers of the wonderful boats of all shapes, sizes, materials and ages that enter the race. To do that we need your help!

The following are the types of people which we need every year:

• Heavy Lifters: strong people to help at launch in Crosshaven and recovery in Cork City!
• Marketing: helping us to get the Ocean to City Message out there, distributing leaflets, posters
• Logistics : Everything from dropping & collecting, to putting up and taking down signage & banners.
• Party People: people who can help organize a good party!
• Shore Safety: safety coordination from the shore, liaising with the event coordinator and water safety volunteers
• Water Safety: People who are used to handling boats and have a RIB or Yacht and would like to be part of our safety team.
• Tech Heads: to keep our website and facebook pages up to date
